Following a significant effort by a dedicated steering committee, the York Region CISM Team officially came into existence in 1996.  Now, 20+ years later, we continue to provide services to the first responders and their families in York Region and support to our neighbouring CISM Teams.

On Friday, November 4, 2016, we hosted a Gala Celebration including live entertainment, silent auction, and lots of stress-relieving fun.

As a registered charity, this Gala fundraiser will provide important financial support to our team.  The monies raised go directly to team activities in support of paramedics, firefighters, nurses, police officers, civilian members of our member agencies and their families.  Community partners who sponsor our event can expect to receive public recognition and our sincere appreciation for years to come.

Our theme to Unmask the Silence refers to our wish that all people experiencing stress and especially those experiencing difficult stress-related reactions will not be silent.  Talking is the best therapy for general stress and is an important part of recovering from or building resilience against conditions such as depression, anxiety, or post traumatic stress disorder (PTSD).

Our entertainment was provided by Eddie and Quincy Bullen – Dueling pianos.
